Abstract

We request funding to purchase additional equipment and software to provide Atmospheric Science students with an environment in which they can be involved in all aspects of the production of outreach videos from conception to publication, including filming, production, and editing. A desktop mac computer with professional quality video and sound editing equipment will allow all students to be involved in the video editing process, including green screen technology, taking advantage of the Green Screen already available in the Department. The new video camera and equipment will allow students to film themselves practicing weather forecasts, and producing outreach videos, either as a long-term project, or in quick response to a current weather event.
