Abstract
This proposal is for a computer controlled wire bending machine. It fills a vital gap in the creation of larger scale complex geometries made possible by CAD/CAM, CNC machines and 3d printing. The device allows students to easily turn 2d curves into strong and light-weight 3d objects. The process is inexpensive, fast and complements work produced in any of our campus shops, labs or makerspaces.
