Abstract
The Mechanical Engineering machine shop provides state-of-the-art machinery to many student clubs, research and design programs across campus. But the 2-axis mills, geared toward novice machinists, have old and unreliable controls that have made machining parts and the transition to advanced CNC mills much more difficult. The ME machine shop is hoping to upgrade previous STF equipment so that the mills with improved user interface and controller can last longer and be more useful for students.
