Abstract
This proposal requests funds to purchase a remarkable new instrument called a Photo-induced Force Microscope (PiFM) to expand shared facilities of the Clean Energy Institute at UW. PiFM has the unique ability to provide chemically-sensitive images with nanometer-scale resolution. STF funds will allow UW students to access one of the first PiFMs in the world, and keep UW at the forefront of cutting edge research across multiple fields while expanding student access to innovative technology.
