Abstract
High precision spatial data is crucial to modern field research. Trimble GPS units allow for the collection of spatial data (latitude, longitude, and elevation) at sub-meter accuracy. The Trimbles that were once available through the UW Biology Department are now being retired after ten years of heavy use. STF funds are requested to purchase new Trimbles in order to insure that departments across campus have access to this cutting-edge technology.
