Abstract
This proposal requests funds to expand the manufacturing instrumentation capability of the Composite Labs in the Dept of Aero & Astro. The vacuum system enables the manufacturing of advanced composite materials using technologies such as Vacuum Resin Transfer Molding of great current interest to industry. The current system available in the lab is inefficient and inadequate. The system will enable the students to have firsthand experience in designing and manufacturing of composite parts.
