Abstract
Particle size analyses in marine and geological research at UW are currently inhibited by limited instrumentation. The Sediment Dynamics Lab in the School of Oceanography proposes to purchase a LS13 320 laser particle size analyzer. This instrument would open new avenues for graduate research, enable undergraduate students to conduct grain-size research, and enhance collaboration between labs in different departments.
