Design Build Fly LiPo Battery Storage Cabinet
Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) batteries are very commonly used in our day-to-day appliances,
and larger, more powerful versions are used in nearly all engineering student clubs at the
University of Washington, in order to power propulsion equipment or vehicle electrical sys tems. Unfortunately, Li-Po batteries can pose a significant fire risk and need to be stored
safely to prevent a major accident. Currently, the University has no comprehensive safe stor age solution for a large number of batteries. We, at Design Build Fly, propose purchasing
a state of the art storage cabinet that can address all safety concerns associated with Li-Po
batteries and ask for funds regarding the same.
