Abstract
This proposal requests funds to expand the testing instrumentation capability of the Composite Labs in the Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics. The micro-load frame enables the testing of small scale specimens such as e.g. textile composites, 3D printed structures, components for UAVs and electronic components. Further, the system includes an optical microscope and a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) system to analyze the displacement field in the material with sub-micron resolution.
