About Crimp Town Climbing Training Room

The Crimp Town Climbing Training Room is located on the first floor of the IMA. The room’s features include an EverActive Adjustable Spray Wall and a MoonBoard, which is used by climbers to grow their skills and try new routes. Free to use for all IMA users, the space is flexible for all levels as there are opportunities for beginner-friendly learning, and more challenging routes for those who want to hone their skills.

STF Provides Learning Flexibility

The Crimp Town Climbing Training Room housed a MoonBoard that challenged climbers with a large overhang angle. The Student Technology Fee had previously funded this training wall to help students develop their skills, but over time, one of the space's managers realized that there was a demand for new and beginner-level climbers that weren't being reached by the MoonBoard. Jeremy Cox worked on a new proposal that would supply the room with a new flexible learning wall.

The Impact

The STF provided the team with what they needed to purchase a new wall, ensuring inclusive accessibility for all the IMA users. Now, not only does the facility hold the MoonBoard, it also holds the EverActive Adjustable Spray Wall. This wall can adjust angles from 5-65 degrees, and through their Crux app, you can get a customized route just for your skill level, all thanks to the IMA team and STF committee.
